Materials for Plastic Parts

AWS Assembly Solutions and Production Partner has experience in handling various materials for the further processing of plastic products. We offer versatile and cost-effective solutions for processing high-performance plastics. Depending on the product, we select the appropriate material and discuss and implement the production process together with you. We can process the following materials at our company.

Thermoplastics

Polypropylen (PP)
PP is versatile, inexpensive and has high chemical resistance. It is used in the manufacture of packaging items.

Acrylnitrile-Butadiene-Styrene (ABS)
ABS has high impact restistance and very good surface quality. It is used to make housing parts that require a high degree of precision.

Polycarbonate (PC)
Polycarbonate is also highly impact-resistant and transparent, with a high heat resistance. It is used in the manufacturing of display windows.

Polyamide (PA, Nylon)
Polyamide is highly robust and abrasion-resistant, making it suitable for technical applications. It is used to manufacture various technical components, some of which require very high levels of fire protection.

Polyetheretherketone (PEEK)
This material is resistant to high temperatures and mechanically stable, making it suitable for the most demanding applications. It is used to manufacture connecting elements that require high shape stability at high temperatures.

Polyphenylsulfone (PPSU)
It has a high glass transition temperature, low moisture absorption and high resistance to sterilisation with hot steam. It is used in the production of medical technology products.

Elastomere

Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPE)
Good elasticity, often used in combination with other plastics. Manufracture of plastic parts for the clothing industry.

Of course, the above-mentioned plastics are also used in combination with various additives and fillers. These include, among others:

Glass fibre-reinforced plastic (GF)
Very high strength, ideal for technical applications.

Carbon fibre reinforced plastic  (CFRP)
Extremely rigid and lightweight; often used in the aerospace and automotive industries.

Flame-retardant plastics (UL 94 V0)
Ideal for applications requiring fire resistance.

In addition to conventional plastics, we also have experience in processing bioplastics. This includes not only the use of bio-additives in conventional plastics, but also the production of components from bioplastics such as UPM Formi.
